The University of Novi Sad was founded on 1960. Today it comprises 14 faculties located in the four major towns of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina: Novi Sad, Subotica, Zrenjanin, and Sombor. Association of Centres for Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Studies and Developmental Research (ACIMSI) is a higher education unit of University of Novi Sad within which master, specialist and doctoral studies have been organized, as well as research activities in the field of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary sciences. The UNS has become recognized as a reform-oriented university, developing intensively international cooperation with universities and other institutions in the area of higher education, scientific and research activities from Europe and the world, as well as through certain number of mobility programs. At ACIMSI academic staff of Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Physical Education developed PhD studies in Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy.
