University of Southern Denmark (SDU) has more than 20.000 students and more than 4.000 employees. University of Southern Denmark has created an institution of higher research and education which provides first-class educational opportunities and is cooperation partner for both public and private businesses and organizations for providing qualified labour. Internally SDU has strong and well-founded strategies and procedures as regards quality assurance and development of the many activities involved in delivering higher education. The Institute of Sports Science deals with research and innovation  based upon studies of the human body, the musculoskeletal system, sport, exercise, active living and movement. Attention is particularly paid to physical activity and exercise in sports and in health promotion, prevention, treatment of diseases and rehabilitation, including cultural, political, psychological and pedagogical aspects of sports and physical activity.
